I graduated with a doctorate from the National University of Naturopathic Medicine. It is my pleasure to utilize my education in naturopathic medicine, nutritional and supplemental support, botanical medicine, orthobionomy, reiki, meditation and breath work strategies, as well as physical practices and training, to offer one on one support and accountability as you achieve your goals.


My name is Mel

My journey began when I was young and looking for answers. I was a solo teenage mom, working 3 jobs and going to school full time. My body was shouting for attention through debilitating panic attacks, migraines, chronic nerve pain, and metal toxicity. The doctors and specialists I saw were able to offer brief reprieve and heavy medications to tackle my symptoms, without answers as to why my body was rebelling, and without a clear plan to help me thrive. 

In 2012 I decided to make my health journey my primary focus and began attending the National College of Naturopathic medicine. Through the guidance of brilliant mentors and a thorough education, I was migraine free within one year, discovered the answers to my underlying health challenges and learned that I get to feel good. I want the same for you!

I have worked with hundreds of clients throughout the Pacific Northwest and what I have found is that with support, education, and accountability it truly is possible to live in health and vitality.

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare that emphasizes prevention, natural healing, and self-care. Naturopathic doctors (NDs) view the body as a whole and work to identify and treat the underlying causes of illness, rather than just treating the symptoms. They use a combination of natural therapies, such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, nutrition, and lifestyle counseling, to support the body's innate healing abilities and promote overall health and wellness.

Naturopathic medicine is based on six core principles: the healing power of nature, identifying and treating the root cause of illness, treating the whole person, practicing prevention, doctor as teacher, and supporting the body's self-healing abilities. Naturopathic doctors take a patient-centered approach, focusing on the individual's unique health needs and creating a personalized treatment plan. They work with patients to address physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of their health, and empower them to take an active role in their own healing journey.

Here are some of the modalities commonly utilized in naturopathic medicine:

  1. Herbal Medicine: This is a modality that uses plants, plant extracts, and other natural substances to promote health and treat illness. It is one of the oldest forms of medicine and can be administered in various forms such as teas, tinctures, and capsules.

  2. Clinical Nutrition: Naturopathic doctors use food as medicine, prescribing specific diets or supplements to address nutritional deficiencies, promote healing, and prevent disease. They also provide guidance on proper nutrition and dietary changes to support overall health.

  3. Homeopathy: This modality involves the use of highly diluted substances that are believed to stimulate the body's self-healing abilities. Homeopathic remedies are chosen based on an individual's unique symptoms and constitution.

  4. Botanical Medicine: This modality uses plants, plant parts, and plant extracts to promote healing and prevent disease. It can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, from acute illnesses to chronic diseases.

  5. Physical Medicine: This modality includes various physical therapies, such as massage, hydrotherapy, and exercise therapy, to help relieve pain and promote healing.

  6. Mind-Body Medicine: Naturopathic doctors recognize the connection between mental and emotional health and physical well-being. They may use techniques such as meditation, biofeedback, and counseling to help patients manage stress and improve mental health.

  7. Lifestyle Counseling: Naturopathic doctors work with patients to identify areas of their lifestyle that may be contributing to poor health and provide guidance on how to make positive changes to improve overall wellness. This may include recommendations for stress management, sleep hygiene, and exercise.

Free Discovery Call

A discovery call is a brief initial consultation between a service provider and a potential client, typically conducted via phone or video, to determine if there is a good fit for working together. During the call, the provider asks questions to understand the client's needs, goals, and challenges, and may share information about their services and approach. The call typically lasts 15-30 minutes and is an opportunity for both parties to get to know each other and decide if they want to proceed with a more in-depth consultation or coaching session.

One on One Session

A one on one coaching session is a private meeting, typically conducted via phone or video, where the coach works with the client to identify and achieve their goals. During the session, the coach helps the client gain clarity on their objectives and develop an action plan to reach them. The coach may provide guidance, support, and accountability to help the client stay focused and motivated. The session typically is scheduled for one hour. Coaching sessions can be a powerful tool for personal and professional development, helping individuals to unlock their potential and achieve their desired outcomes.

Customized Packages

A coaching package of 4 to 6 weeks includes a series of personalized one on one coaching sessions to help clients achieve a specific goal or overcome a challenge. The package may also provide additional resources and support. By the end of the package, the client should have made significant progress towards their goal and gained valuable skills and insights that they can continue to use in the future.
